The unique identification of customers applying for credit cards results in the issuance of a Protected Card Number (PCN). The PCN was created to provide streamlined identity processes for issuers and cardholders without compromising security, convenience or privacy.
PCNs are not duplicated within the industry, preventing the use of multiple identities and putting in place the ability to weed out synthetic identities. Because the PCN links the customer to the credit card, it provides tremendous capabilities to companies throughout the credit card system, enabling enterprise- and industry-wide innovations such as the application of blockchain networks and permissioned ledgers to credit transactions.
The PCN is not based on a federated system made vulnerable by its weakest link. Rather, a single standard process of unique identification through TASCET’s Identity Infrastructure™ brings integrity to credit card transactions, providing identity processes that adapt to innovations in hardware, networks and technology.
